Star Wars 7's Daisy Ridley Got a PS4 and Things Didn't Go So Well
The 23-year-old's friend stepped in to save the day.
In Star Wars: Episode VII -- The Force Awakens, the character Rey is a proficient scavenger and tinkerer. But the same can't be said for actress Daisy Ridley, it seems. During a Facebook Live event today, Ridley was asked if she was mechanically savvy like Rey is. She said she's not, sharing a story about a PlayStation 4 to make her point.
"Last weekend, I got sent a Star Wars PlayStation. I was with my friends and I was like, 'Oh my god, I know what I'm going to do; let me plug in the PlayStation,'" she recalled. "I had no idea how to do it, so I looked online; looked it all up. Plugged it into the thing; it didn't work."
That was that, and Ridley gave up for the time being. But the next weekend, a friend--the same one who was with her during her first attempt--stopped by and sorted things out.
"She came over again and I was like, 'I wish the PlayStation would work!' And she was like, 'I bet you put it in the wrong socket.' It literally took her two seconds and then it worked," Ridley said. "And I'm like, 'You could have said that last weekend.'"
"It proves that I am in no way mechanical or technological."
The "Star Wars PlayStation" Ridley is referencing is likely the Star Wars Battlefront system that originally was released in November 2015.
You can watch the full Facebook Live video below, in which Ridley answers lots of questions about her involvement with The Force Awakens and more.
Ridley is now shooting Star Wars: Episode VIII, which comes to theaters in December 2017. The 23-year-old also discussed the "responsibility" she feels in performing the role of Rey.
The Force Awakens is available now through digital video-on-demand platforms and comes to Blu-ray/DVD tomorrow, April 5.
In other news about Ridley, she's in discussions to play Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot movie.
