Star Wars Battlefront 2 Adds Limited-Time Jetpack Mode In Next Update
Jetpack Cargo is coming soon.
Star Wars Battlefront II developer DICE has shared some details on the game's next update, which is slated to roll out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC soon. While patch 1.2 doesn't yet have an estimated release date, DICE outlined the gameplay changes and improvements coming to the shooter in a post on the Battlefront II forums.
Among other things, patch 1.2 will mark the start of Battlefront II's Jetpack Cargo mode. Jetpack Cargo is a "frantic, fast-paced" mode for two teams of eight players, each of whom is equipped with a jetpack. Unlike most other modes in Battlefront II, Jetpack Cargo will only be available to play for a limited time.
DICE is also making balance changes to nearly the full roster of Heroes and Villains in Battlefront II. The developer didn't specify what these adjustments will be, but it singles out Boba Fett, Emperor Palpatine, Iden Versio, Bossk, Rey, Kylo Ren, Luke, Chewbacca, Yoda, Lando Calrissian, Darth Vader, and Captain Phasma as getting buffs, nerfs, or other tweaks.
Additionally, patch 1.2 will make an assortment of bug fixes and balance changes to the level design, although DICE hasn't detailed what those will entail yet. The update will also make other general improvements and bug fixes related to performance and stability, blaster and lightsaber glow, and colorblind settings.
DICE will release the full patch notes for update 1.2 when it's deployed; in the meantime, you can read more about the changes coming to Battlefront II in its next patch on the game's forums. Beyond the forthcoming update, DICE has said it is preparing "significant" progression changes for the game; more details on those will be shared in March. EA has also reconfirmed that microtransactions are coming back to Star Wars Battlefront II.
