Ahead of Star Wars Battlefront's release in November, DICE continues to answer questions about what the sci-fi shooter will and won't support. The latest piece of news involves the game's lack of private matches. Writing on Twitter, the developer plainly stated that the game "will not have private matches at launch."

DICE never said that Battlefront would support private matches, so it's not as if the feature has been cut. Still, it's no doubt a bummer for those who wanted to set up their own games. In addition, DICE previously confirmed that Battlefront will not feature a dedicated chat system or server browser on console.

The developer's brief statement doesn't rule out private matches coming to Battlefront sometime down the road, however. Another EA game, Titanfall, introduced private matches through a post-release update.

Of course, players can still form parties of their own to play with friends; on Xbox One, party chat was recently increased to support up to 12 users at once.

Battlefront's multiplayer beta ended on October 13; it attracted 9 million players across Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, representing the largest beta in EA's history.

In other recent news, EA has announced that Battlefront is getting four expansion packs that you can buy through the game's $50 DLC pass. In addition, three new multiplayer modes have been revealed, while DICE has admitted that the 40-player Walker Assault mode is poorly balanced and will be changed.

Battlefront launches on November 17, about a month before JJ Abrams' Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens hits theaters.
