Starfield Collector's Constellation Edition Includes 5 Days Early Access, Preorders Available Now

You'll get a big head start on everyone else if you fork out for Starfield's most premium edition.

Starfield is getting a suitably special collector's edition for the launch of Bethesda next, massive role-playing universe, letting you wear a little bit of the game on your wrist while you play. It's available to preorder now from retailers.

The star of the show with the collector's edition is the inclusion of a fully-functioning smartwatch, which mimics the exact one your character will receive in game to track a variety of statistics and mission-critical information. The real-world watch might not be as useful, but it will tell you the time and connect to your smartphone to display some notifications and other types of information. It's not exactly clear if it can track your steps.

The watch is housed in an equally expensive case, which Bethesda says will feature an intricate locking mechanism in case you need to keep something safe. It comes with a Starfield fabric patch and a NATO strap for the watch, which is quite a nice addition.

The rest of the collector's edition is a bit more standard fare. The game will come in the form of a download code, but you'll still get a nice steelcase for display, some in-game DLC, and access to the game's first story expansion in the future. Perhaps most importantly, you'll get a staggering five days early access to Starfield ahead of its official release on September 6, meaning you can likely play as soon as the month begins and well ahead of anyone on Game Pass.

The Collector's Edition is up for preorder now on GameStop, although you'll need to be a Pro member . (The price of Pro goes up soon.) Non-Pro members can place an order starting on Tuesday. Alternatively, you can preorder the Premium Edition directly from Xbox.

Additionally, there's the $35 Premium Upgrade you can purchase, which comes with a steelbook case. In theory, you could get the game via Game Pass and then get both a physical case and the extra in-game content, as well as the Constellation edition's patch.

Starfield launches officially (for all normal editions and Game Pass) on September 6 for Xbox Series X|S and PC.

That watch will be CRAP!

I bought "The Division" Collector's Edition(ugh)

That watch broke the 1st time i wore it.

My jeweler said it was a $10 Walmart watch.

Which woulda been fine if it didn't break.

i fixed it & perma tossed it in my retro game accessory bin.

~Too bad that Starfield suitcase wasn't a lil bigger as it

would be Poifect as a misc holder in the car.

I still use DEAD ISLAND RIPTIDE MINI-SUITCASE

as a lighter,change,USB misc container/organizer.

Wait, they're doing the VIP early access thing even for single-player games now?? Oh, modern gaming has truly gone off the deep end. They told me the staggered release thing with Diablo 4 was to help the servers not explode at launch, which at least made a little bit of sense. But this is just not something I can defend or accept as the norm.

$300 bucks for a watch that probably cost $20 bucks (if that) to make. unless it interacts with the game in some way, I would just spend a few dollars more, and buy an apple watch.

You'll look like a total "mark" wearing that thing in public. Lol

really just a $300 paper weight, look most "collectors editions"

Oh well, some people like to waste money on stupid shit... we are all probably guilty of it at one point or another.

The controller looks pretty dope, and you'll actually get some use outta that.
