Steam 2014 Holiday Sale has begun, introduces snow globe trading

The annual Steam Holiday sale kicks off today with deep discounts on games across the digital PC store.

Like we say with every Steam sale, while you might think one of the standard discounts sounds like a good deal, it's always best to hold out for Flash Sales and Daily Deals.

This year also introduces Snow Globe trading, a collectible that allows you to craft exclusive in-game items for free-to-play games like Dota 2 and Path of Exile. You can earn Snow Globe cards by making purchases on the store, by voting in the Community's Choice sale, or just by trading for or buying them.

Discounts will update continuously throughout the sale, but a few highlights from the initial offering include:

• Monaco for $3
• BioShock Infinite for $10
• DiveKick for $2.50
