Steam's Metal Gear Solid Franchise Sale Drops The Phantom Pain to $28

Get all of the Metal Gear games on Steam for cheap.

Steam today kicked off a new franchise sale dedicated to Metal Gear Solid. While the service's selection of games from the Hideo Kojima series is limited, those you can get are as cheap as (or cheaper than) they've ever been.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain headlines the sale. Its regular price was recently dropped to $40, and with the sale's 30 percent discount, you can get it for only $28.

No Caption Provided

If you also feel compelled to pick up some of the cosmetic DLC that's available for it, you can get the single-player and Metal Gear Online bundles for $5 and $7, respectively. The campaign DLC offers new outfits (like those based on Naked Snake and Eva), while the multiplayer stuff provides new poses like the one pictured above.

The sale also discounts Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes down to $5 (from $20) and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance to $7.49.

You can grab everything on sale through the Steam links below.

Konami's lack of anti-cheat measures and the overt refusal to develop any are an absolute slap in the face to the gamers that have spent their money and dedicated hours of their time to this iconic franchise, not to mention the dirty way they did Kojima. It seems they have crossed 2 lines too many in my book and I refuse to play anymore until Konami at least does something about the relentless cheating that is going on in the game. If you haven't purchased this game yet but are considering it, then I highly recommend that you refrain from purchasing MSG5 unless you love getting beaten up relentlessly by cheaters, it will do nothing but piss you off. What a shame for a major gaming company to allow such an iconic AAA title to be reduced to the horrible state it is right now, it's absolutely disgraceful. At this point all I can now say is that if you have read this then consider yourself warned, this game is absolutely saturated with cheaters and modders and the worst thing is Konami is doing absolutely nothing about them. I have followed their report cheater protocol to the letter on multiple occasions to a T even providing video proof and have seen absolutely nothing done about it. It is a terrible shame and I have determined to not play it anymore if and until action is taken on the issue. On the other hand if you are the type that is willing to cheat, mod and abuse the EULA with cheats/hacks/mods then this is the game for you because Konami won't lift a finger to stop you. Absolutely Disgraceful,

I would buy MGS V....but #FucKonami. They messed up this game's development and fired Kojima-san.

Say you're enjoying Metal Gear Solid V. Is there any reason to go back and get Ground Zeroes?

@Attitude2000: Yes Ground Zeroes is much superior compare to phantom pain:

1. The best part of the MGS V Story is in GZ.

2. The best missions of the whole MGS V are in GZ

3. It has more variety in missions compare to PP

4. It has much better Level Design( Omega Camp is Much better than any base featured in PP)

5. It feels more like traditional MGS compare to PP. (no Fultoning, No base management)

6 It also doesn't have the Huge useless outer Base areas which are very boring in PP.

7. SoundTracks of GZ are superior to the ones in PP.

I might just have to jump on this...MGS-V was the last game I bought for PS-3, and I knew a moment like this would come along....time for the HD upgrade. The game is a lot of fun, when thought of as a stealth game and not a MGS game.

Free is the most I'll pay for GZ, which is just a glorified demo excised from the main game so that no one can call it a demo. The most I'll pay for TP is $20. Personally, I'll wait for a possible Humble Bundle.

@lostn: Try and make yourself sound even more entitled; I don't think it's even possible.

@Deity_Dude: I'm entitled to buy it for whatever price I perceive it to be worth when and if it is offered at that price (until then I will wait). That is a fact. No one can make a person pay $60 or even $28 for a game they don't want enough to justify the asking price. This isn't a dictatorship.

Get over yourself.

--I was pretty excited about MGSV
--and
--if it hadda been the only game on the market ida spent more time on it
--but
--I just could not 'get into' the game(with so many other games to 'get into")
--I think it was the complexity of the upgrading systems(for building the home base)
--it just drops you off on like ocean deep oil rig
--and the game doesn't properly 'encourage' you to fulfill the upgrades
--I felt lost and bored
--and all the missions where kinda 'too much' IMO(without enough to 'look at')
--great game no doubt
--I just couldn't get into it for some reason(I tried to explain IDK)

--you kids these days...
--back in my day(or even just a few years ago)
--not EVERY single game had a plethora-****-ton of content
--and it messes me up to be honest
--like witcher 3
--I know they gotta keep their most loyal customers entertained
--but at this point
--the game plus the dlcs are like a lifetimes worth of content to a gamer my age
--leaves me feeling like I just don't have time to 'get into' it
--idk maybe just me

Best stealth game out there IMO. The new Hitman can't compare to MGSV.

I need to finish this game. I've had plenty of distractions this year on PS4 and it sucks as I'd consider myself a fan having played and beat every game in the series. Odd enough, this one did not hold my attention like the others.

Rising and Phantom Pain are great games at this price. Definitely recommend them. The cosmetic DLC not so much.
