The Steelbook Case edition, featuring Ryu on the cover, is said will come with "all content from the game," though to what extent this means access to future DLC is not clear. Series creator Yoshinori Ono recently told GameSpot that Capcom has a five-year plan in place for supporting the fighting game.

Currently the case has only been announced to go on general sale in Europe, while the price has yet to be announced.

Sony is both helping fund the development and publishing of Street Fighter V, as part of a major exclusivity agreement with Capcom. No edition of the game will ever appear on Xbox One, if statements from Capcom are to be believed.

Asked recently by GameSpot what message he had for Xbox One fans of Street Fighter, Ono said: "There's plenty of time to save $300 before the game comes out. The PlayStation 4 is at a very attractive price point at the moment."

The Street Fighter V release date for PS4 and PC falls on February 16 across North America and Europe.
