Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist debuts May 23

The best Street Fighter film ever made it seems.

They should just ditch the idea of live action (series or movie) for this game in my opinion. Ever since they started, the sequels have only gotten worse than the already bad implementation

They did a cool job with the Mortal Kombat series, (whatever happened with that?), so this might be cool as well. I guess we'll see.

Looks sick. I was looking for the guy in pink Gi just to add a bit of flavor to the movie. Overall, I'll definitely watch it

Well its not Oscar worthy but its not bad for something done on a limited budget. I'm actually looking forward to watching this. I wonder if it gains popularity would Capcom consider it canon? & besides the games, what else is considered canon in Street Fighter/Final Fight anyways? Please let me know.

The Street Fighter series died a while back. The live-action films just add the nails to the coffin.

I'm hoping the producers will concentrate on just delivering on the fight scenes. The stories/scripts WILL be cheesy and the acting WILL be mediocre but that's okay as long as they manage to engage the audience enough and make you look forward to the fight scenes. I think it's important that they put in some effort into actually recreating the combat styles from the characters instead of doing some random fight choreographies that looked cool in Bourne Identy, Bond or Taken. Do STREETFIGHTER choreography please.

Please don't just change characters and their motivations "because we're trying to reach a broader audience to stay profitable and because film is a different medium than a video game so we have to change up pretty much EVERYTHING but the names." Just don't insult the fans.


If one goes back to the Van Damme Streetfighter movie from the 90's and appreciates it for what it is (a slightly trashy action movie with ridiculous characters, that doesn't take itself too serious) then it's actually a very enjoyable movie. It's just not a Streetfighter movie.

In one episode 12 characters are locked in a cage and Ryu has to pay real money to get them out (Street Fighter X Tekken reference).

This looks awesome for what started out as a short fan film several years ago.

At first I thought it said "Street Fighter Assassin's Creed", and was then disappointed.

Lol Gamespot you finally posted a decent article before the week ended. This is just amazing but its obvious this is a clone of the street fighter alpha generations movie. Cool to see it live but non animated humans have to try so hard and that's why they usually fail. I haven't seen a game done right by a movie since the 1st mortal kombat movie, which till today, is the best video game movie ever no questions about it.

This looks 10x's better then the Jean Claude Van Damme Street Fighter. LOL!! So this is debuting May 23rd. Where is it going to be shown is the big question.

This looks pretty damn good. I can't wait to watch it. Plus I'm glad they're focusing on on just a small amount of characters and not jumping back and forth and shedding very little light in multiple characters.
