Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Will Require Constant Internet Connection Even For Single-Player Mode

Given how ready publishers and developers are to shut down the servers on any game that underperforms even the smallest amount, any game made that requires an online connection is a very poor investment. This lesson has been hammered home this year, with multiple shutdowns and closures of games. I'd also be willing to bet that, like always, the servers will not be up to snuff on release day and will prevent playing even single player during the first month. Game companies seem unable to get servers right, ever.

It's a shame, I was at least sort of interested in this game. Now, I'll be passing on it unless it shows up on Game Pass or Playstation Plus. Single player mode should never require anything more than a console or computer.

They coulda atleast do it like MGS V did.

Welp, that signs its death warrant. No self-respecting gamer will ever support a required online connection for single player games or a game built around GAAS. When a game like this is confirmed to have a built in expiration date, only a moron would buy it. If you can't play it 30 years from now it's not worth touching today.

I don't have a problem with this as of right now because all things at this point require the internet so, but at the moment I will wait for it to go on sale.

I'm so surprised Rockysteady have produced such a basic, generic looking game. An online shooter in a DC skin, whose real intention is to funnel money from players on tired cosmetics. So bizarre to see this from a respectable gaming company.

It's like everything DC does is just like a constant L basically.

I found Gotham Knights cheap so I bought it despite my reservations. I won't make that mistake again.

This was a horrible idea the first time somebody proposed it, and it's still a horrible idea. There's absolutely no legitimate reason to require an Internet connection for single player.

Pass. I know we should be past the point of outrage with these stunts, but it's a single-player game; making it online is just them trying to protect their IP (by inconveniencing legit consumers) against piracy, or b.) trying to sell microtransactions with an intrusive storefront every time you log in (again, inconveniencing legit consumers that already spent money).

For once I'd like a AAA game to be a self-contained system where I spend money, I get a product, and that's the end of it (outside of patches and updates, of course).

I'll just watch the movie-of-the-game when someone compiles it.

Welp, the trends of the current gaming industry continue to repel me. Good thing I'm finding other things to get into.

Super hard Battle Pass(ed) here. Not even Kevin Conroy couldn't save this game...and this is an insult to Conroy when Kill the Justice League should have been a fun SP game. Sad to see Rocksteady going downhill.

Nope. Not gonna invest significant time and effort into a game that can have its plug pulled at a moment's notice, whether it be from the publisher or my own router being stupid which it almost always is after 12am.

WHY do these games have to be online only!? Absolutely bloody ridiculous! Not everyone is an online player FFS! Well, I won't be buying & I won't be the only one who thinks this. I was really looking forward to the evil dead game but that's online as well.

Good to know, because I am not required to buy it. I'll check YouTube for clips of Kevin's final Batman performance.
