Suicide Squad Races Past $300 Million After Less Than a Week
The DC Comics movie continues to perform well heading into its second weekend.
Despite being a miss with critics, Warner Bros. movie Suicide Squad continues to crush it at the box office.
Deadline reports that the movie's global haul now stands at $326.1 million, after less than a week in theaters. The movie's $135 million opening last weekend represented a new domestic record for August, while the film also set records for best Monday and best Tuesday in August.

The previous record-holder for August was 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, which opened to $94.3 million in the US.
Deadline reports that Suicide Squad has now passed Guardians of the Galaxy's lifetime haul in one region, Brazil, needing just six days in the country to make $14.9 million and topple the Marvel movie.
Suicide Squad's No. 1 international market is the UK, where the David Ayer-directed film has made $19.7 million. The No. 2 region is Russia ($14.2 million), followed by Mexico ($13.2 million) and Australia ($12.3 million).
Heading into its second weekend, Suicide Squad is expected to bring in $51 million-$54 million in the US, fending off newcomers like Sausage Party and Pete's Dragon to stay No. 1 We'll report back later when the box office figures comes in.
