Suicide Squad Star Regrets Getting That Stupid "SKWAD" Tattoo
"It's supposed to be a sh**ty tattoo."
When Suicide Squad was in production in 2015, the cast and crew bonded by getting tattoos, many courtesy of Harley Quinn actress Margot Robbie. The tattoos were all supposed to read "SKWAD," but last year Robbie revealed that she made a spelling mistake on her first attempt. Now co-star Joel Kinnaman has revealed that he regrets getting the tattoo at all--and blames Will Smith for giving it to him.
Kinnaman appeared on Watch What Happens Live and explained that his tattoo artist wife Cleo Wattenström would have done a much better job. "That was a horrible idea," he admitted, via MTV. "You know, don't let a 47-year-old man without his reading glasses tattoo you. That is the life lesson. Especially when you have a very talented wife. It's supposed to be a sh**ty tattoo, so that's what it is."
Here's the image of Smith working his "magic" on Kinnaman, posted on Instagram by the actor in August 2015:
Kinnaman also revealed that he was now in training to reprise his role as Rick Flag in Suicide Squad 2. While the movie doesn't yet have a confirmed release date, it is expected to start shooting later this year. Gavin O'Connor, who previously helmed the Ben Affleck hit The Accountant, will direct.
In November last year, there was a rumor that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson might make his DC debut as anti-hero Black Adam in Suicide Squad 2. Sources for The Wrap stated that the movie's plot will revolve around "members of Suicide Squad [who are] tasked with tracking down a weapon of mass destruction." That weapon is apparenty Black Adam. Johnson himself teased a surprise introduction for the character earlier this year, when he told Fandango: "We have a really cool surprise for Black Adam that I can't reveal, in terms of where we will see Black Adam being introduced."
In related news, DC's Shazam is now in production. The movie arrives in April next year, and a synopsis was recently released.
