Mario will find himself in the nearby lands of Flower Kingdom, because, rather shockingly, Bowser is up to no good again. This time he steals the mythical Wonder Flower. You will work your way through seven worlds of side-scrolling levels either solo or cooperatively with up to four players. The aforementioned Wonder Flower will manipulate the world around you in some cool ways.
Numerous iconic Super Mario characters are playable, including Luigi, Peach, Toad, Daisy, Nabbit, and Yoshi. If you play co-op with Yoshi, you can hop on the dino's back, Yoshi's Island-style. Yoshi will even carry other Yoshis or characters who obtain the power-up that turns them into a bulky elephant. Like other recent Mario games, a couple of the characters--Nabbit and Yoshi--are beginner-friendly and don't take damage from enemies.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder supports local and online co-op. It also has an optional community-focused system that allows you to see other players who are currently playing the same stage. With the help of Friend Rooms, you can race against your buddies to see who can reach the goal the fastest.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder Preorder Bonuses
Several major retailers are offering exclusive preorder bonuses for Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Walmart's bonus is arguably the best. While supplies last, you'll get a pack of Super Mario Bros. Wonder trading cards, shown above. This bonus has already sold out once before, so you'll want to hurry if interested. Meanwhile, Best Buy is giving away a free Super Mario Bros. Wonder poster; GameStop has a free sticker sheet, and Target is offering a shadowbox.
