Super Mario Maker, One of 2015's Best Games, Coming to 3DS
Launching December 2.
Super Mario Maker is coming to Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo made the announcement today during its Nintendo Direct briefing, confirming the handheld version of the Wii U game will launch on December 2.
There will be 100 built-in levels, Nintendo confirmed. Not every Wii U course is compatible, but Nintendo said it's confident there will be enough content to play. Whereas the Wii U edition focuses in part on sharing levels online, the goal is to share levels locally, Nintendo said. This can be done by directly downloading from a friend or via Streetpass.

Super Mario Maker for 3DS will not allow players to send and share levels over the internet.
Another cool thing about Super Mario Maker's 3DS version is that players can create levels collaboratively by sending work-in-progress stages to other users. Also, the 3DS version has all the items from the Wii U version except for the mystery mushroom and corresponding costume.
Super Mario Maker for Wii U was one of GameSpot's favorite games of 2015 and a contender for Game of the Year. For more, check out GameSpot's review.
