Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's DLC Won't End After The Next Two Fighters
Banjo is out now, but the giant roster is getting even bigger in the future.
During the September 2019 Nintendo Direct, the company announced that Banjo-Kazooie would be launching the same day in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate; the character is out now. But in addition to revealing what's next for Smash DLC, the studio also confirmed that the five characters coming as part of the Fighters Pass won't mark the end of the DLC support--the roster will continue to grow.
Banjo-Kazooie joins the expanding roster of playable characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the heels of Joker (Persona 5) and Hero (Dragon Quest), both of which released in April and July respectively. With his inclusion, Banjo-Kazooie raises Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's roster to 80 fighters. The Direct also brought word that the next fighter will be Fatal Fury's Terry Bogard.
If you don't have these characters yet, you can nab all three with the Fighter Pass Bundle--which retails for $25 USD / $37 AUD / £20 GBP--or buy each fighter separately for $6 USD / $8 AUD / £5 GBP each. Piranha Plant, the party-fighter's first DLC character, Originally available for free, Piranha Plant is available for $5 USD / $7 AUD / £4 GBP, remaining the cheapest DLC fighter so far.
In GameSpot's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate review, Edmond Tran wrote, "[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's] entertaining single-player content helps keep the game rich with interesting things to do, as well as bolstering its spirit of loving homage to the games that have graced Nintendo consoles. Ultimate's diverse content is compelling, its strong mechanics are refined, and the encompassing collection is simply superb."
