Take Advantage Of Amazon's Huge Buy 2, Get 1 Free Sale Before It's Over

Stock up on the latest releases and save on your bundle.

Amazon is known for copying other stores' sales and improving them, and it's done that again with Targer's current buy two, get one free sale. Target's version of the sale focuses on books, movies, music, toys, and board games. Amazon's sale is more limited in scope, but has more deals on video games to match, so both are worth looking at depending on grabbing a variety of things or just want to make the most of a deal from a monetary perspective.

We should note that Amazon's offer page for this particular sale is misleading. The top of the page explains the limited-time offer as "buy 3 items, get 1 item free," but what it means is that when you add three items to your cart, one of them will be free. In checkout, you'll see the cost of the lowest-priced item subtracted from your overall order. So, for example, if you buy three $60 games, you'll save $60 on the overall order, but if you buy two $60 games and one $40 game, you'll save $40. With that in mind, choose your bundle wisely.

Amazon's sale includes brand-new releases like The Outer Worlds and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, both of which are full-priced at $60. Some of the best games released earlier this year are up for grabs too--don't miss out on Control for $45, Resident Evil 2 for $30, and Borderlands 3 for $45. Catherine: Full Body, the enhanced PS4 port of the popular 2011 game, is on sale for $53, and the launch edition comes with a gorgeous steelbook case.

Target's sale will be live until November 9, so it's likely Amazon's sale will mirror that schedule. That said, these B2G1 sales have a way of selling out the best deals quickly, so don't wait if you've been eyeing any of these games. You can check out the full offering of games in this sale at Amazon and see some of our picks from the sale below.

Don't waste your money on Borderlands 3 until the price comes down. Yes, it's a much longer game than BL2, but it's also WAY more boring.

In just the first couple hours of BL2, we were introduced to Sir Hammerlock, Handsome Jack, and Butt Stallion, along with fairly amusing antics from Claptrap and Scooter, and some pretty entertaining enemies to boot. In my opinion, the first few hours of BL2 were epic-time in story, characters, and combat.

In the first few hours of BL3, you get none of that. No new characters are introduced. The characters that are used are boring as hell. The only semi-entertaining element is Claptrap, but he's just a shade of what he was in BL2. Other characters use the same one-liners over and over again so often that it's going to make you sick. Eventually there are a few new characters introduced, but they seriously suck.

It took me 80 hours to make it all the way through BL3 once, compared to 30 hours for BL2, but believe me when I tell you, you'll be begging for this BL3 to finally end after 30 hours.

It’s less common for Amazon to use the phrase that way, but it’s no less accurate. It can be interpreted either way because that phrase leaves out key words. It’s like that one movie scene where the guy thought “all you can eat” meant unlimited servings when it meant that’s all you’re allowed to eat at that price.

Target offered B2G1 free deal with any game in stock every year, BestBuy had that deal before too, hopefully they do it again!? Amazon’s sale lacking by comparison.

@Bamda: Even worse, the “sports and outdoors” items are playing cards. Hilarious. Not even an e-sport.

A few good games, but most I already bought. I like how they have the $110 version of Ghost Recon, but not the standard. Same for Borderlands 3. They also raised the price of DMC 5 and Division 2 since last week. Typical Amazon shenanigans.
