Publisher Bandai Namco has announced that Season 4 of Tekken 7 kicks off this fall on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. With the start of Season 4 comes a new character, an additional stage, and various gameplay updates.

Headlining the Season 4 update is the added character Kunimitsu, the daughter of Kunimitsu from the original Tekken. This second-generation Kunimitsu shares a lot of similarities with her mother, including the fox masks both kunoichi wear. She's agile and ferocious at close-range, with abilities that allow her to juggle opponents high into the air before slamming them back down to the ground.

Along with Kunimitsu is a new stage, Vermillion Gates. This stage is soaked in the glow of white moonlight, surrounded by cherry blossoms and Torii gates. It's the perfect location for a cyborg ninja and kunoichi to battle, a fight you can briefly check out in the Season 4 announcement trailer below.

Though this version is her daughter, Kunimitsu was last seen in Tekken Revolution, a free-to-play fighting game that launched on the PlayStation Network for PS3 in 2012 before being removed in 2017. Before that, she appeared in Tekken Tag Tournament 1 and 2, as well as Tekken and Tekken 2.

Tekken 7's last DLC character, the Muay Thai fighter Fahkumram, dropped in March 2020 for $6. His accompanying stage, Cave of Enlightenment, released at the same time and costs $3. Though Kunimitsu and Vermillion Gates currently don't have prices, they're likely to cost the same.

The Season 4 update also includes various free gameplay updates on top of the added character and stage. These improvements include new moves for all characters in the game, user interface enhancements, and online play adjustments to increase responsiveness. There's also a new point-scoring system called Tekken Prowess that tracks a player's rank and stats, and a rank system overhaul that includes a new top-level title called Tekken God Omega.

Bandai Namco also confirmed that more content updates are coming in spring 2021, including another new character and stage. These have not been revealed as of yet.
