TEN Nabs Wolfram Exclusive
The hovercraft are coming, the hovercraft are coming...to the Net this fall.
Total Entertainment Network (TEN) today announced Wolfram: Metal of the Ancients, an online-only futuristic hovercraft combat game. The game, developed by San Francisco-based Bolt Action Software, will be available exclusively on TEN in late fall.
Wolfram can support 32 simultaneous players per game in either deathmatch or strategic team play. The game features two teams in each game, with approximately the same number of players per team. Each team can have its own name and logo, which are customizable.
At the most basic gameplay tier, Wolfram is a pure action game in which a player pilots a hovertank and engages in dogfights with players on the enemy team while building an individual score/ranking. The middle tier is more strategy-oriented, with players working cooperatively to build and defend outposts and manage resources while attacking the enemy's bases. The top tier is a completely strategic game of team management and resource control, and will enable TEN and Bolt Action to create games within games in which players focus on larger campaign issues rather than minute-by-minute battle tactics.
