Activision today announced that it has shipped Tenchu: Return From Darkness to stores across North America. The Xbox-exclusive stealth ninja action game is closely based on Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven for the PS2, but it boasts a number of new features, including online deathmatch play for up to 20 players, online cooperative play for two players, new unlockable abilities, improved enemy intelligence, and the ability to drag and hide dead bodies. New maps in the game include six specifically designed for deathmatch play and two new single-player missions set in a samurai mansion and a three-story pagoda.

"Tenchu: Return From Darkness gives Xbox gamers the most authentic ninja stealth action adventure available on the platform," said Takehisa Abe, general manager, Activision Japan. "The addition of Xbox Live cooperative gameplay offers players a truly unique gaming experience."
