The Day Before Trailer Accused Of Copying Call Of Duty Clip Shot-For-Shot
The Day Before, a game beleaguered by bizarre controversies, is now accused of plagiarizing a Call of Duty trailer.
The upcoming MMO survival shooter The Day Before is no stranger to controversy, but this latest development is the weirdest yet. A prominent YouTuber accused the game of copying a Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War trailer almost shot-for-shot, and a number of fans have boosted the claims over the past few days.
They can't even come up with their own trailer ideas. Straight ripping CoD Zombies shot for shot.

If you're following The Day Before for anything other than to watch the trainwreck you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

Now, as a whole, it's best to give game developers the benefit of the doubt when it comes to things like this, as there are only so many ways to present commandos with guns hunting down bad guys. That said, when you look at the two trailers side-by-side, the resemblance is definitely striking.
The Day Before reemerged after months of relative silence earlier this year when developer Fntastic said that the game would be delayed from March to November 2023 due to a trademark issue. This trademark issue also apparently caused a delay in the release of the 10-minute gameplay trailer in question, because the developer had to "consult with lawyers" before releasing it. Fntastic later clarified that the delay was already planned before it was aware of the trademark problem.
The Day Before was previously delayed from May 2022 to a 2023 release when the studio shifted development to Unreal Engine 5. Fnastic was also criticized for its use of unpaid "volunteer" workers earlier in 2022.
