The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition spotted

Polish retailer lists Legendary Edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which collates the game and its three DLC packs.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim could be getting a Legendary edition, if one retailer listing is correct.

No Caption Provided

Polish retailer Ultima (spotted by Eurogamer Poland) listed the game with a June 7 release date, stating the Legendary Edition would include The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and its three expansions Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn.

The suggested retail price for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions--199.90 zł--would suggest a standard price of around £39.99/$59.99. The PC version is marked slightly cheaper.

Bethesda recently confirmed that there would be no more DLC released for Skyrim, and that the team was moving on to its next project.

GameSpot has reached out to Bethesda for comment.

Previous Bethesda RPG's The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Fallout: New Vegas have all received similar editions in the past.

I have been looking forward to this day since before Skyrim dropped. I bought the past two Elder Scrolls in GOTY editions, and figured I would wait for the same with Skyrim. However, over the almost two years that I have been waiting, my excitement has dulled to a murmur in my heart; like the sad, hopeful longing of a chaste maiden awaiting the incoming ships for news of her beloved. I hope that, when I finally take the plunge into what will most certainly be a satisfyingly immersive world, filled with many nooks and crannies to get lost in, that my little videogame soul will not whimper with a sad longing for the game that my lofty expectations have built it up to be, and a sense of loss for the past two years of Elder Scrolls chastity.

@PSYCHOV3N0M That's fine. Rather have that and be able to delete and install at will rather than download all the individual DLCs. Just my preference and much cleaner.

Not so long ago at a game store not far away, there sat shelves of copies of THE ELDER SCROLLS 4: OBLIVION GOTY EDITION for PS3. Joy! It contained the base game and all dlc! Great! Oh wait... there were game-breaking bugs. That's ok, certainly a company like Bethesda will listen to feedback and fix the issue... uh... well... uh... NO! Now, years later Bethesda still haven't fixed the game-breaking bugs! WHY!? Because the major "Vampire Glitch" bypass requires you to have purchased a 2nd copy of the game (not GOTY) and switch out discs. That means in order to play the entire game you have to have purchased OBLIVION twice! No, with Bethesda's business practices and Pete Hines' condescension to fans of the series with legitimate gameplay issues, I'm done with Bethesda forever... on all platforms. I can abide glitches that are fixed and bumps in the road, but not game-breaking glitches that even after years of acknowledgement are never fixed. Goodbye Bethesda. I'd rather play WITCHER 2, DRAGON'S DOGMA, and a host of other games... that I've paid for and work!

@epicgameresearc elder scrolls has always really been about the community mods, it was originally and pc game and shall always be a pc game, fact they made console version is merely for sake of cash.

People complain all time about pc game being noting but console ports done badly, where as elder scrolls titles its kind of the other way around for a change.

@Huggy_Monster @tionmedon @epicgameresearc You guys are missing the point. If you bought a car that's missing parts, would you blame the producer or tow the car to a mechanic and try and get the car fixed/completed? You'd blame the producer because they sold you an unfinished/broken product. Bethesda sold a broken/unfinished product on the PS3 and never fixed it. Truthfully, that could easily be considered against the law. And the argument that a user should just change platforms only lets a shady producer off the hook from responsibility for their product. Unless a producer is long out of business, no one should never be dependent on a modder to make a product function as advertised. To add value/experience, yes... to make a product work, no.

@ScreamDream Why? Until they offer you the entire game for one price, you should wait as long as it takes.

Also the game was buggy as shit as most Bethesda games are, so things should be patched up pretty well by now.

Also the student discount they offer is quite helpful.

There's an error in the article...it should say 2 DLC packs (Dragonborn and Dawnguard). Hearthfire was NOT a DLC in any real sense, it was a prettier patch if anything.

@lunarsword that's not an error, that's a difference of opinion. learn to read.

despite its lack of content, Bethesda considers Hearthfire an expansion.

@Thumbler76 Only TES and a couple of artsy ones like Journey and Shadow of Colossus. I found early during Morrowind that first person hack and slash isn't my cup of tea. However, since I love Fallout and Bethesda releases these complete compilations of its other famous franchise, why not? I also support CDPR and ANet primarily for non-gameplay reasons.

I read somewhere that one needs not to appreciate art to support it. I think it's a good attitude even though for me the issue isn't art.

@Unfallen_Satan Give Skyrim a try, I think you will be surprised about its great quality in story, environment and gameplay. It is like Fallout 3 (I compare it to the only
Fallout I've ever liked a damn lot) in a fantasy version. It's totally worth the try!

News flash everyone. The game has had major bug issues since the last patch . Lyp synching does not work right and some other bugs have been reported. This has been reported quite a long time ago and Bethesda is keeping silence on this. If you go to the official forums you will get more details on this. So basically if nothing changes the package will be bugged and you will have lost your hard earned money to a buggy game.

Sorry but its about time that companies be held accountable to what they sell to the general public!!!

I'm glad I held off playing it a 2nd time now. :D

Though I am tempted to just buy it again on PC instead. I recently started downloading FO:NV mods and some of those mods are just delicious. Lightsabers, brothels and unlimited companions? Yeah that's hard to say no to.

@Thumbler76 DLC season passes are becoming common. Maybe future Collector's Editions will have those passes included. The content may not be on disk, but it would be a decent compromise.

Bioshock Infinite also released with a statue-less premium edition, so that trend may pick up too.

I will definitely pick this up. I appreciate these full editions. I don't mind missing out on the DLC at first. Rather have the complete edition on disc which allows me to get rid of the original retail purchase. I wonder if EA is going to pull the same thing with ME2 and not release the ME3 complete edition. If so, I guess I will not be playing the DLC very a very long time, if ever.

@MarcJL31 I haven't seen the math on this. Compared to the profit from the full compilation, how much would EA stand to lose from those who, without any hope of a compilation, would suck it up and get the core game + all DLC at full price? However, EA has no doubt done the math, and seeing how DA: O was the last BioWare/EA game to do this and the Trilogy released without any DLC, it's probably not in EA's current plan.

I always thought Bethesda released those compilation as a service to fans instead of for financial reasons. Maybe if EA is pushed to the point where they feel they need to do something to appease its customers, more than whatever they are doing now, they may do it. But then they did it for BF3... So maybe it's BioWare's call and not EA's.

@KaSeRRoR As many of my fellow Skyrim/PC brothers/sisters have said- you won't be disappointed. There's not only a seemingly endless amount of mods to choose from (something for everyone) but a friendly/helpful modding community as well that (for my experiences) welcomes both accolades and feedback alike, and for those too timid to give modding a shot or no time for it, some modders will mod your ideas for you if they find it interesting/helpful enough. *Sure, there's bad apples in every bunch, but I've only had great experiences (which are extensive) with the mods/modders on Skyrim. *This is all assuming you're not being a complete a** on purpose to them of course :). Enjoy.

Finally! I'll legally own a PC copy of Skyrim once this is released. I already bought it on the Xbox 360 before I built my sweet gaming rig, but lately I've wanted to play it on PC with all of those mods available for it.
