The Last Of Us 2 -- Here's When Reviews Go Live
In just a couple of weeks you'll be able to read our thoughts on The Last of Us 2, ahead of the game's release on June 19.
The Last of Us 2 is less than a month away now, following multiple delays for reasons ranging from polish to the coronavirus. That means it's only a matter of time before reviews start to weigh in on the anticipated game from Naughty Dog, and now we know exactly when that will be.
The review embargo is Friday, June 12 at 12:01 AM PT / 3:01 AM ET. That means in just over two weeks you'll be able to wake up (or stay up) to see what we think of the game.
Naughty Dog has spent a long time promoting the game, and it isn't done with the reveals yet. Sony recently announced a new State of Play presentation to take place Wednesday, May 27 that will focus exclusively on TLOU 2. If it's anything like the last State of Play, which was similarly laser-focused on Ghost of Tsushima, it should give us a lot more details about the Last of Us sequel.
The studio has also been grappling with leaks since April, which detailed major spoilers for the game. To that end, it's using a new tool rolled out by Twitter to prevent people from putting spoilers in response to its tweets.
Earlier this month, Sony revealed a special edition Last of Us 2 PS4 Pro console and matching controller, along with a few accessories. For more details on that hardware and all the various tchotchkes you can snag by pre-ordering the game, check out our pre-order guide.
