The Last Of Us 2 PC Is Reportedly Complete, Despite No Official Announcement

A reliable leaker has claimed that development of The Last Of Us 2 PC port has been finished for six months, and that it may release with the TV show's second season.

The Last Of Us Part 2 is one of the most-acclaimed games of the past few years, but it has stubbornly remained a PlayStation exclusive for that time. A leaker with a proven track record of reliably releasing game info ahead of time recently said that the PC port of The Last Of Us Part 2 Remastered has been finished for more than six months.

That leaker--Billbil-kun, over at Dealabs Magazine--claims that development on The Last Of Us Part 2 started way back in 2021, and that it concluded prior to this year, perhaps in November 2023. The leaker notes that the remastered version of the game was released on PS5 in January 2024, which perhaps means that Sony is deliberately holding back the PC port. Billbil-kun then speculates that it may release with season 2 of the HBO TV adaptation, which is set to come out in 2025.

Now Playing: The Last Of Us 2’s Roguelite Mode Explained

As with all leaks of this nature, we recommend you take it with a grain of salt. However, it has been almost four years since The Last of Us Part 2 came out, which means Sony's had plenty of time to work on a PC port. Over the past few years, Sony has released PC ports of its big exclusives months or even years after their launch on PS4 or PS5. For example, Ghost of Tsushima came out in May of this year, almost four years after its 2020 console launch.

They just released a game, so I don't think they're going to release another game so close to each other and take away attention and maybe even sales away from the other game. I have to believe it will be released at the end of the year or early next year.

Now where is the PC port of Bloodborne and Demon's Souls?

I'm replaying it. It's a great game. The story is unfun and it's hard to play characters you don't like, and I don't like even little choices they made in characterizations - so much I didn't like. But if you don't care about story or are uninvested in *that* story, purely as a game it's top notch.

@dmblum1799: LOL its a little hard not to care about the STORY when playing TLOU since uh the STORY is what won the first one 233 GOTY awards. Naughty Dog screwed the pooh on the second one it was and is a complete disaster from the writing to the story to the character arch. I only hope they straighten out their **** ups with the third and finally chapter.

This is fantastic news. If it’s true, then it should mean that we get a very polished and un-rushed product. I wish every game could be released in this manner.

Best gunplay and melee in a third person game. Nothing comes close, and this game is almost 4 years old. Kinda sad how slow this generation is advancing.

Only game I can think of where I loved the gameplay but the story and various bits about its characters made me dislike it overall. Since usually I can look past "issues" in storytelling.

I still remember finishing it and being unsure for days if I even enjoyed myself lol. Before of course coming to the conclusion that I didn't.

@santinegrete: There'll be a bunch of people who weren't ever going to buy TLoU2 performing their recreational outrage routine.

@mogan: that’s the unfortunate truth. Steam forums have become unbearably toxic. I’ve been on Steam for 16+ years and it used to be an awesome place to talk about games. There was camaraderie and good conversation. Now, it doesn’t even matter what you say or what you try to talk about. People are going to flame you. If you think something is good, flamed. If you think it’s bad, flamed. If you say anything about how much a game means to you or how much you enjoyed playing it, flamed extra. If it runs good for you, but not for others, you’re a liar. If it runs bad for you, then you’re a cheap bastard trying to run it on a potato and you deserve the sh*tty performance you’re getting. If you give any form of opinion, flamed. Every topic spirals into negativity, bickering, name calling and arguments. If you disagree with any form of agenda that’s being pushed, then you’re racist, homophobic and full of hatred. Oh and also a waste of space on this planet.

Ah yes, I love the social aspect of gaming. So friendly, productive and most of all; very mature 🙄.

@joecollin: So true and I started on Steam when it first launched, but the golden age of gaming was over a long time ago and you can't converse with one another w/o those that want to ruin it.

@joecollin: tru dat. I left a good review on Spec Ops The Line, stating it that it was art. A comment response after a few years was posted basically saying "get out and touch some grass".

Like, edgy as Brutal Doom difficulty setting tryhard mumbo jumbo.

@santinegrete: it’s rather alarming if this is all that’s left of online interaction. Maybe all that’s left online is the vocal minority that love to complain and be eternally unsatisfied. I don’t know anymore, but the good people are extremely rare to find.

Spec Ops: The Line is a great game. I’m with you all the way on that one.
