The Last Of Us Season 3 Announced Before Season 2 Has Even Premiered
The Last of Us has been renewed for a new season before the next one even begins.
Ahead of the Season 2 premiere of HBO's The Last of Us, the network has announced The Last of Us Season 3. This was always expected, of course, as showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have long maintained that Season 2 will only tell part of the story of The Last of Us: Part II.
"We approached Season 2 with the goal of creating something we could be proud of. The end results have exceeded even our most ambitious goals, thanks to our continued collaboration with HBO and the impeccable work of our unparalleled cast and crew," Mazin said in a statement (via Variety).
Druckmann, for his part, said working on the TV show has been a "career highlight" for him. "I am grateful for the fans' enthusiastic and overwhelming support," Druckmann said.
The Last of Us Season 2 debuts this Sunday, April 13. It brings back Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, along with Kaitlyn Dever joining the cast as Abby.
