Developer Bloober Team and publisher Rogue Games are collaborating together for their next project on new-generation hardware and PC.

Bloober Team is known most recently for The Medium, as well as Layers of Fear, Observer, and Blair Witch. Rogue Games is made up of industry veterans from many different companies such as Sony, Activision, Electronic Arts, and Apple.

“We couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with Rogue on this incredible project,” wrote Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno in a statement. “We pride ourselves on making games that push the boundaries of originality and immersion, and we’re delighted to be working alongside a company that shares our vision.”

No other details about the game were revealed other than that it is aiming to utilize the newest generation of consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

“We’ve admired Bloober’s dark and gorgeous games for years, so we knew right away they were the only team to do this crazy cool concept justice,” added Matt Casamassina, CEO of Rogue Games. “Today’s not the day—unforgettable, original, kickass games take time and care to make—but we can’t wait to fully announce details on this project at a later date.”

In the meantime, check out GameSpot's The Medium review. Jordan Ramée wrote, "I can't say I enjoyed the ending to The Medium, but I am deeply satisfied with how it sets up the inescapable nature of its horrifying conclusion."

The Medium was just ok. It felt more like a last gen game. At least the PS5 version made use of the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, though.

I wonder if it will be pure horror or it will have some degree of tense combat a la Shinji Mikami.

Can we get a game that runs properly, higher than 20-30 fps on consoles, and without the awful frame pacing/stuttering please? Thanks.
