The Newest Lego Star Wars R2-D2 Set Is On Sale For The First Time
The R2-D2 set features a rotating head, multiple accessories, two minifigures, and a display plaque.
The Lego catalog is filled with awesome Star Wars sets (including the super popular Millennium Falcon), but few are currently as enticing as the Lego Star Wars R2-D2 Set, as it’s seeing its first ever discount. Typically listed for $100, the 1,050-piece set is now listed for just $85. Amazon doesn’t mention how long the set will be on sale--so if you’re interested, head over to the online retailer and scoop up the set while it’s cheap.
Lego Star Wars R2-D2 Set (1,050 pieces)
$85 (was $100)
This R2-D2 model is a faithful replica of the droid from the iconic films. Featuring an attachable periscope, various tools, and a rotating head, it makes both a fun display piece or kid's toy. Your completed model stands over 9 inches tall and comes with a bonus information plaque to help you show off the creation. The package also includes a mini R2-D2 figure, and a bonus minifigure based on Darth Malek from the popular game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
If you need help assembling the 1,050 bricks in this build, consider downloading the Lego Builder app. This allows you to zoom and rotate a digital version of R2-D2, giving you additional perspectives on how each step should look once properly completed.
Lego loves to launch new sets at the beginning of the year--and that tradition continued in 2025. Six new Star Wars sets were introduced on January 1, so if you’re looking to snag a companion for R2-D2, you have plenty of great options.
The largest new addition is The Mandalorian: Grogu with Hover Pram. At 1,048 pieces and $100, the adorable display piece would look great next to your new droid. Along with a buildable Grogu figure featuring a posable head and ears, you’ll find tons of authentic accessories and a buildable hover pram.
Want something for young builders? Mando and Grogu’s N-1 Starfighter is designed for ages four and up--and its 92 pieces shouldn’t take very long to snap together. Once done, you’ll have a small N-1 Starfighter and figures for the Mandalorian, Grogu, and R5-D4 droid.
Over 100 new Lego sets hit the market this month, so be sure to check out the full catalog for even more great options.
