The Pokemon Anime's Newest Season Is Coming West

The latest season of the Pokemon anime, Pokemon the Series: Sun and Moon, premieres Friday, May 12, on Disney XD with a two-episode special.

Like previous seasons, this latest one stars Ash Ketchum and his partner Pikachu. This time, the pair is in the Alola region from the Sun and Moon games, and although Team Rocket has followed them there, the games' Team Skull is also around to wreak havoc.

The first two episodes will air at 9 PM ET, while the third will air the following morning at 9 AM ET, which is Pokemon's normal time. Then, at 5 PM ET on Saturday, you'll be able to watch Pokemon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel.

The Sun and Moon series began airing in Japan in November 2016, and there was a sneak peek of the English dub in December.

In other Pokemon news, Pokemon Go developer Niantic has teased more to come for the smash-hit mobile game.
