The Simpsons: Next Celebrity Cameo Revealed
Norman Lear will show up in a scene involving a theme song from one of his shows.
Fox's long-running animated show The Simpsons is known for its celebrity cameos, and now the next one has been revealed. According to Entertainment Weekly, TV veteran Norman Lear will have a "brief cameo" in an upcoming episode.
Lear, 94, created and produced a number of famous TV shows, including The Jeffersons, Sanford and Son, Maude, and All in the Family. According to the report, Lear will play himself in a Season 29 episode this fall, appearing in a scene involving a theme song from one of his shows.
Lear is still working, as he's an executive producer for the One Day at a Time reboot that premiered on Netflix earlier this year.
Last year, Fox renewed The Simpsons for Seasons 29 and 30. After Season 30, there will be 669 episodes in all, surpassing Gunsmoke (635 episodes) to become the most for any scripted TV show in history.
Some of the guest stars for Season 28 included Sarah Silverman and Snoop Dogg.
