In just a few days, kids in fancy dress will be going around your neighborhood and knocking on your door during the wholesome night of Halloween. Of course, if you'd prefer to hoard your candy and risk being on the receiving end of some tricks, there's nothing wrong with spending the night indoors and catching up on some seasonal reading! And what better than an omnibus or two of Halloween stories told in the sensational Simpsons style?

Sure, Treehouse of Horror has been a staple of television since 1990, but you can extend that animated treat with this collection of ominous omnibus collections. Volume 1 released last year, while Volume 2 was just published in August.

Each one is around 400 pages in size and includes stories written by a heavyweight roster of comic book talent. Michael Allred (Madman), Sergio Aragonés (MAD magazine), Kyle Baker (Nat Turner), Jeffrey Brown (Star Wars: Darth Vader and Son), and Jill Thompson (Scary Godmother) all contributed to the first volume alone, while subsequent stories were written by big names such as Dan Brereton, Gerry Duggan, Pia Guerra, and many more.

Even better, these full-color editions are all collected for the first time in deluxe hardcover slipcases and come with a glow-in-the-dark, die-cut cover that makes them ideal as a quick gift option for any Simpsons fan in the house. With the show currently experiencing a renaissance with new episodes that have been well-received after years of underwhelming seasons, The Simpsons star is on the rise again.

As an added bonus, you can pick up one of several Treehouse of Horror T-shirts that reimagine the Simpsons family and several other Springfield citizens as iconic killers. There's a Munsters-styled shirt, zombie Homer, and this creepy Ralph Wiggum design.
