The Walking Dead Changes Showrunner As Ratings Fall

Will they have zombies again, now?

I too have watched every episode (I always binge watch half a season in one week) prior to this season and have noticed I've been caring about the series a little less each season; however, unlike a lot I really thought them killing a main character (as much as I liked Glen) was a positive as it keep an air of unpredictability in the series. I think far worse are the repetitive plot twists (take over a community one season then lose it the next). It's getting old now.

I have followed this show since it's premiere. I haven't missed a single episode since the beginning. Until now that is. I haven't kept up since the third episode of this season, and I don't really care to catch up right now either. I can't put my finger on all the issues but I can say my interest has declined since the introduction of Negan. Two dragged out seasons of his character and he isn't even interesting. The killing of Glen, my favorite character just before he becomes a father. They need to figure out their direction or this show won't last much longer.

The show just drags. All those long, lingering, quiet shots of absolute nothing need to stop. It's a show about zombies, not a friggin' Terrence Malick flick. And shoving in prolonged shootouts where nothing happens isn't helping. That's the whole problem with the show: all of the actual events - you know, the plot points that tell the story - of an entire season could be condensed into three or four episodes if they just cut all the pointless filler and cinematic masturbation. I've tried to keep watching, despite the fact that I've come to hate every character in the show because they keep writing them more and more moronic, but all last season and what little I watched of this season, I found I kept checking the clock because I couldn't believe how much nothing was packed into every episode. How can every episode feel like it's three hours long but it doesn't advance the story at all?

At this point, the only thing that'd bring me back to The Walking Dead is Frank Darabont. Give the man whatever he wants and let him try to unf*ck the series, give me one or two really good seasons, then bring it to an end and go out on a high note.

So.... ratings fall and this guy gets a promotion instead of a demotion.... and it's a promotion to oversee ALL of TWD shows.... greeeeat.

To me, the show is dead since Shane turned into a zombie.

Stopped watching it simply because it went too far. It could be an amazing show had they made a proper ending but they had to milk it.

The Walking Dead has been going on so long that the franchise itself has become zombified. The comic should have wrapped up three years ago, and the show should have a similar deadline. If they were wise they'd already be in the wind-down stage of the show. Better go out sooner than dragging itself in the gutter.

Despite all the hate, I love this show and am a firm supporter of it and have been since day one. The general public as a whole is so very hard to please no matter what ppl are gonna bitch and complain about every little detail. The fact and the matter is, the show is still as great as it ever was and all the hate is completely normal for any show that has had huge success and the fact that people are so quick to turn their backs on a show they once watched and liked just goes to show that they are not a fan at all, just another hating ass troll.

This show is still on TV? lol Who cares and if Star Wars the Last Jedi SJW has taught me anything, women in charge is a BAD idea. Also I'm a woman so don't pull that sexist crap ether.

maybe don't cover a single page of comic content over three episodes.

after seeing the traps woodberry had none of them say hey that's a good idea lets do that or how when they first get to the cdc and there's guns everywhere ammo to yet they don't take any of it at all it's like common sense does not exist in the walking dead.

Changing the showrunner might improve the show, but it won't help with ratings. The longer a show is on the more viewers it loses. It's amazing the show still has as many viewers as it does.

It's time to cancel the show. I stopped watching a LONG time ago because it was just stupid - no end game, no real plot, no purpose to the show. It is just an aimless pos with inconsistent zombies, random killing for no reason (Glenn was a loss many hated and tuned out) to be edgy and cool like the other stupid show - Game of thrones, show has no real identity now and it is just annoying at this point. The overhyped villains underdeliver and are very irritating with them not getting killed when it is obvious etc.

TWD was good first 2 seasons for its novelty. Rest were all garbage tbh. I'll be happy to see this show canceled.

Can't always have crap go bad and expect the watchers to continue to be empathetic to it . Show is just getting to be to much bad going on. Doubt adding some good will help since all of it is getting stagnate. They should have ended it a season or 2 ago when fans still wanted more not when fans are burned out by the show. Just MHO.

Here's an idea...have an ending! A lot of stories have it, believe it or not!

They could hack off Carl's head and put it on a stick to welcome visitors to Alexandria, and it just wouldn't shock me any more. We've pretty much seen every manner of violence at this point.

It won't end, Even IF Negan will be killed off, NEW enemy will pop up as always and Ruin their next Town hideout, Why people are watching this shitt ? Even Comics are Bad and repetitive............

Last season was dull. Zombie killing choreography was great as always, but their gun fighting choreography is mediocre and it's just not as entertaining. Everyone I know who watches the show say the exact same thing: they just want the show to end.

at conventions they're excited? well i would assume they would be since the people attending the walking dead walker stalker conventions are usually there for walking dead stuff. lol

Seriously, they should have ended this show when it was still hot. They keep on dragging and dragging. It pretty much is at a stall point right now, there is no major goal beside "staying alive". We are at season 8 and we still don't exactly know how this whole shit started and there is no quest for a cure. I mean **** even Znation has become more entertaining than this snooze fest.

The problem is people are getting tired of the show its time to end it, reminds me of sons of anarchy the show was good then it overstayed it welcome and because crap at the end.

they should just end it.....let it end and move on.....

maybe adapt another Image comics IP
