The world of EverQuest expands
Sony Online announces Stonebrunt Mountains, a free new playable zone in its popular online role-playing game.
Sony Online Entertainment today announced that a free new playable zone will be added to its popular online role-playing game EverQuest. The new zone is called Stonebrunt Mountains, and it features a variety of new landmarks and outdoor areas to explore. In addition, the area features new quests designed for midlevel players.
The Stonebrunt Mountain range is located on the continent of Odus, and it includes hilly areas as well as large mountains. The pinnacle of the range is the huge Mount Klaw, which is home to the village of Kejeka. The entire zone is similar in scale to the Lake of Ill Omen on the continent of Kunark, which is one of the most popular zones in the game. We've posted some screenshots in the gallery above that show off some of the new areas that players will encounter in the new zone.
Stonebrunt Mountains is the fifth in a series of free zones added to EverQuest. The previous free zones are the Temple of Solusek Ro, Paineel, the Hole, and the Warrens. The retail EverQuest expansion packs, EverQuest: The Ruins of Kunark and EverQuest: The Scars of Velious, have also added new areas to the gameworld.
EverQuest is a massively multiplayer role-playing game set in an online medieval fantasy world. Players pay a monthly subscription fee to access the game servers.
