Because of the problems with intels 13 and 14 gen cpus, and amd lackluster 9000 series the amd 5800x3d cpus have just skyrocketed in prices. For a 4th gen cpu that at one time was all the way down to 270$ new on amazon 2023, is now considered on sale at $450-480. The 5700x3d will get the job done and I would be comfortable taking it all the way up to a 4070 ti super or 7900xt or gre without getting bottlenecked for 99% of the games out there to play.

Right now, I think that the 13 and 14th gen intel cpus are just way too high for their current MSRP. The demand is down, the risk is high, and while they say the patch has 100% fixed the problems with degradation, there is still reports of continued spikes at start up and when OC that will need another patch soon. Intel is keeping the msrp as high as possible while quietly off loading 13/14 gen cpus to pc builders and markets that turn these over to lesser knowledgeable consumers. This has caused the x3d cpus to jump in prices and over all, hurt the cpu market for gamers.

The Ryzen 5 7600X3D exclusive to microcenter physical stores at $299 or less is one of the best deals right now for its build class. Sigh... let us hope new chips are out sooner then later.
