This Brand-New Platformer Is Free For Today Only
Two more free games will be available on January 1.
Epic's free games program is hitting new heights during the Epic Games Store holiday sale. While you can normally get one or two games for free each week at the Epic Games Store, you can snag one game every day throughout the holidays. If you've been claiming every free game that's been up for grabs, you'll wind up with 12 new games to play by January 1.
The festivities kicked off December 19 with the phenomenal tactics game Into the Breach, and the latest freebie is Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, a stunning platform adventure that just released in October. Yooka-Laylee is free to claim for just 24 hours, ending at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET on January 1.
To take part in Epic's holiday festivities, all you need to do is sign up for a free Epic account. Once you claim any free game from Epic, it'll be in your library forever. In addition to the free games, Epic's holiday sale features discounts up to 75% off. Epic will knock $10 off of your first purchase of $15 or more. After using the "Epic Coupon," you'll get a new $10 off coupon after every eligible purchase.
Epic announced earlier this year that the free games program would run until the end of 2019. However, Epic hasn't officially confirmed the end of the program, and the store is now promoting two mystery free games that will be available starting on January 1 and ending January 9. This implies the weekly giveaways may be returning in 2020 after all. January 9 is a Thursday, and Thursdays are usually when Epic's next free game becomes available. We'll have to wait and see, but in the meantime, be sure to check back on New Year's Day for the next two freebies.
