This God Of War Ragnarok Blooper Reel Is Hilarious And Just As Horrifying
"This way, Kratos. This way. This way. This way. This way, Kratos."
God of War Ragnarok on PS5 is one of those games that you'll boot up when you want to show off your console and new OLED TV, but it wasn't always an incredibly polished action game. Developed by Sony Santa Monica, the sequel to 2018's God of War game had its fair share of bugs and glitches that resulted in some hilarious content prior to its launch. And now, you can see how unintentionally hilarious video game development can be, as Sony Santa Monica is celebrating the first anniversary of God of War Ragnarok with a highlight reel of pure silliness and nightmare fuel.
The Midgard Mishaps chronicles some truly bizarre body horror, as during the development of the game, characters would contort their bodies as if they had over-lubricated joints, faces would implode, and other scenes would play out very strangely. Nothing can prepare you for one of Odin's sons doing the Gangnam Style dance.
Thor is walking around while completely ignoring the fact that Kratos' Leviathan axe is lodged firmly in his face, Atreus will make owls jealous with his ability to spin his head around, and we'll see some of those glitched faces in our most disturbing dreams whenever we close our eyes at night.
With God of War Ragnarok providing a definitive ending to the Nordic saga of Kratos, the future of the franchise remains unclear for now. There have been rumors that God of War Ragnarok could get a small expansion focused on Kratos' son Atreus--in the same vein as Uncharted's Lost Legacy--but for now, the series appears to be on hiatus.
If you're looking to pick up the game, now is a great time to do so as you'll get not only the full adventure but also extras like an excellent photo mode and a challenging New Game Plus mode.
