THQ to support the release of its Rugrats game with a multimillion dollar marketing campaign.
Hoping to capture the interest of kids everywhere, THQ has announced that it will be fueling its release of Rugrats with a multimillion dollar advertising campaign. The Rugrats television show is currently the highest-rated kids program in the US.
The THQ marketing campaign will include national print and television ads, along with major promotional tie-ins with such companies as Paramount Home Video, Simon and Schuster, and Kid Rhino Records.
"The Rugrats property continues to thrive as THQ prepares for the release of Rugrats: Scavenger Hunt," stated Alison Locke, senior vice president, marketing and sales, THQ. "We've had tremendous success with our initial Rugrats games since their release, and now is the perfect time to bring the first Nintendo 64 Rugrats game to millions of Rugrats and N64 enthusiasts."
Although absent from THQ's press release, according to retailers the release date for Rugrats is June 29. Two other Rugrats games are planned to follow in November for the PlayStation and Game Boy Color.
