Today THQ revealed it will release a new Scooby-Doo! game this September. Scooby Doo! Unmasked will ship for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, and DS. No rating or price information was available.

In Scooby-Doo! Unmasked, gamers will assume the role of the canine caper-solver as he and the rest of the Mystery Machine's passengers visit Fred's cousin Jed, a set designer of monster movies. After Jed's mysterious disappearance, the animatronic monsters begin to operate on their own, spreading chaos through the movie set and making Jed a prime suspect.

Gamers will uncover the truth and prove Jed's innocence by moving through the game's three worlds and donning various costumes that endow Scooby with specific powers. The game will also feature cutscenes, boss battles, and minigames. Adam West, star of the campy 1960s Batman television series, will voice the game's villain. The game will also capture the campiness of the original animated Scooby-Doo cartoon series by including the trademark laugh track and classic catchphrases that made the show so popular.

Scooby-Doo is no stranger to games. The pup made his cyber-debut on the Intellivision back in 1983 and has appeared in several games this decade, thanks to his resurgence in two major motion pictures.
