A red card forced Australian football star Tim Cahill to miss out on playing against Ghana in the recent World Cup in South Africa, but it hasn't stopped the Socceroo from leading the pack on the front cover of EA Sports' upcoming FIFA Soccer 11.
The New South Welshman is joined by Real Madrid’s Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite (aka Kaka) and Manchester United's FIFA cover athlete veteran, Wayne Rooney, on the box art. Although Cahill is best known to Aussie football fans in his role as part of the Australian national team, he fronts the game wearing his Everton FC jersey.
This is the second consecutive year that Tim Cahill has appeared on the front of a FIFA title, with last year marking the first time in the franchise's history that an Australian has been on the front cover.
FIFA Soccer 11 will be taking to the field on September 30, 2010, and boasts a new pro passing system, which determines the accuracy of passes, and a new database that updates the stats and abilities of players more accurately to reflect how they play in the real world.
