Tomb Raider slips to 2003

Eidos announces that Lara's next adventure, The Angel of Darkness, won't be available until February next year.

As we 2878974speculated back in August, Lara Croft won't be making her PS2 debut in time for Christmas. Eidos has today announced that it has decided to reschedule the release date for Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, which was due to arrive in stores next month. Eidos' new release date for the game is in February 2003.

Today's announcement will obviously come as a great disappointment for fans of the series, although Eidos--which currently holds the top two positions in the UK sales charts with TimeSplitters 2 and TimeSplitters 2 , respectively--has stated that The Angel of Darkness will definitely benefit from further refinement in the extra three months that Core Design now has to work on the game. Considering our slight disappointment after 2878974playing the PS2 version of the game at ECTS in London earlier this year, we'd have to say that the decision seems like the right one.
