Tomba fans can rejoice, because the pink-haired jungle boy will be returning to the PlayStation once again. This time, however, he'll be in 3D. Sony Computer Entertainment first showed the Tomba! sequel to attendees at last month's E3 in video form and running on monitors. Today, GameSpot News has acquired a great new screen of the new Tomba! 3D adventure.

According to Sony spokesperson Ami Blaire, "Tomba is a bit older now and is back with new animations, new weapons, and a new attitude."

Tomba will once again be required to defend himself from the evil pigs. This time around, as Tomba beats pig bosses, he'll acquire new suits that allow him to perform new moves. None of the moves have been revealed yet, but Sony says Tomba will have a new hammer weapon in the sequel

Like the original game, Tomba! 2 is being developed by Whoopee Camp, a company that employs developers with a hit list of games for Capcom, such as Mega Man, Ghouls and Ghosts, Breath of Fire, and Bio Hazard. Tomba! 2 is scheduled to release this fall in Japan, with a US version slated for a January 2000 release.
