Transformers Battle Tactics Shutting Down Soon, "Grand Finale" Event Coming
"Even Cybertron has to fall at some point."
Transformers: Battle Tactics, a turn-based strategy game from DeNA, is shutting down. "Even Cybertron has to fall at some point," the developer said in a forum post this week announcing the shutdown.

"It's with a heavy heart I announce that we have made the tough decision to sunset Transformers: Battle Tactics," the developer said. "This was not a decision made lightly, but one that had to be made. It's been quite a ride thus far, and while things are coming to an end, there is still more to look forward to."
No specific explanation as to why the game is shutting down was provided.
Battle Tactics will receive no further updates and updates that were in development have been canceled. The game's support forums and general forums will remain online for the time being, however.
As was alluded to, DeNA is throwing something of a sunsetting party for Battle Tactics. On March 4, the developer will announce a "grand finale" event for the game, which will then begin on March 11. The game will be removed from app stores on March 10, at which time all microtransactions will be disabled and the game's forums closed.
On May 12, the Grand Final event will end and the Battle Tactics servers will be shut off. At this time, support for the game will also end, and the game will officially be no more.
"It's been quite a journey, but as it comes to a close, lets have a blast as we say goodbye," the developer said. "Everyone, roll out!"
Although Battle Tactics is going away, Transformers fans can try out Transformers: Earth Wars--the first-ever Transformers RTS for mobile--when it launches this spring.
