Japanese game publisher Video System announced on Monday that it has entered into an agreement with Ubi Soft to produce new games using the official Formula One World Championship license. The agreement, which is good for the 1999 and 2000 seasons, covers a number of formats, including Sony's PlayStation2, PlayStation, Nintendo's Dolphin, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Color, PC, and Dreamcast.
"We are very pleased about this agreement with Ubi Soft: These new, high-quality titles will enable us to offer players even more high-technology F1 products," said Koji Furukawa, CEO of Video System. Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubi Soft, added, "Formula One is the most widely watched televised sporting event in the world. By teaming up with Video System on the F1 license, Ubi Soft is positioning itself to attract new customers and continue its worldwide expansion."
The new F-1 titles will be designed and distributed internationally by Ubi Soft. Video System, which holds the rights to the F-1 license, will publish the games.
