CoD is overplayed as hell

The sheep will flock to the newest most popular shooter just like they always do. When MW3 comes out in DEC, Black Opts will be forgotten. UMAD?

I dont understand it? I have read most of the comments on here and everyone is pretty much slating CoD off.. and yet.. its still on the #1 slot? how is this? who is actually buying this game?

Black Ops' camapign was great if not a bit short. Definitely one of the better CoD campaigns.... its MP on the other hand is the same re-hashed thing I played 3 years ago in CoD4

To stop this cash in strategy, don't buy no matter what... Unless corporate management see obvious downfall of sales number, they will never stop this effective strategy. In return, you'll get better games..

just one word:COD! (now all i have to do is slap that on one of my turds and it will sell for millions)

cod black ops sucks.....why coz everybody plays it and nobody likes it...there is too many cod these days its hard to differentiate one from other..i heard they are releasing MW3 by Dec!!! WTF

@campbell153 you might be right , i saw this happen to the PES series when FIFA suddenly changed their game. It could happen to COD if KZ3 or crysis 2 do something major , which i think KZ3 has done. But its FRANCHISE , Brand power, and COMMERICAL NAME. that will most likely keep COD alive.

as someone said before is it possible that the UK has the worst gaming community ? [im from the UK], seriously , the critic reviews , the fanboism and slating , Narrow mindedness , and slating anything that wasnt advertised on TV , following what others think ???? Its a scary thought but i seriously think it is so . I hope im wrong. ....i know their are great opend minded gamers, but they seem to be a minority. My personal op , sad to say lol but USA seems to have one of the best communities.

Theres not one game in that list that Ive bought or want too buy.

@ NoDzombie, yeah its a shame about Testdrive Unlimited 2 not being up there, but agreed its defiantly in a state with all the bugs and server issues, maybe when the patch comes out it will rise up the chart, because as long as you look past the bugs this game is pretty awesome!

Just goes to show, slap Call of Duty on the box and it'll sell regardless of the quality. I do worry for the gaming community, if one publisher can get away with it then many others may follow. When that day comes I may have to hang up my controller for good.

I think TDU 2s biggest issue has been Gran Turismo 5 and the soon to release Shift 2. Gran Turismo 5 has a few issues but it does work and the ganmeplay is superb.

@King9999 I couldn't agree more. If a game nails every aspect of the game without being "revolutionary" it will be great: Metal Gear Solid 4 for instance. Whilst a game like Mindjack which attempted to change the fps genre has fallen flat because it has flawed mechanics.

@rharr257: Which games are revolutionary in your eyes, exactly? And why do we need something revolutionary when people are enjoying the games? Your other comment suggests you don't look at the subtleties of these games, which is what makes or breaks them. Revolutions don't count for much if the mechanics are broken.

well i noticed black ops went on sale in a lot of places this last week, so the fact its now cheaper is probably why its back on top of the charts........... not surprised TDU2 is falling fast, its a great game when its working, the problem is that most of the features dont work most of the time, still really quite surprised it was released in such a poor state

The amount of marketing power held by publishers such as Activision means sales charts are pointless. Like @Phil-teh-Pirate said, Black Ops is being deliberately under-priced to ensure it beats MW2 sales figures (despite being just MW2-lite). Most people will agree that GTAIV wasn't the best, the Complete Edition is only charting because the add-ons were much better.

BULLETSTORM is crap - that's the meaning of previous post. Wait for Duke Nukem - it will be crap with style worth buying.

I just got to conclusion that average gamer from UK is like realy dumb:) Now just to watch BULLETSTORM to climb up in UK. No offense, but to buy BLACK OPS that much is not normal.

Probably because GAME are selling BlackOps for £22.99 which is roughly half the price of what Modern Warfare 2 still sells for. I haven't seen such price rape since MarioKart DS and Animal Crossing still selling for £34.99!

LBP2, AC:B and MvC3 are the only games on there that I will end up buying... eventually (for those of you that know me now, I always wait until they drop below 20 quid). Oh, and in that order.

I aint going to defend CoD but in truth it does what its meant to. Its single player is short but I enjoyed it, did loose interest in online as truth be told I've gone back to Final Fantasy 7,8 and 9. I'm rather enjoying recalling those games by memory but suspect sooner or later i'll be drawn back. Maybe in March when the add-on comes out.

Only way I play CoD is at a friends place, borrowing it or playing it at a center, other than that maybe I'll buy it used but I don't ever plan on buying another Activision game. Even with one of my favorite childhood memories I'm thinking of just getting the next Transformers titles used because from what I've heard they're planning on releasing those annually after War For Cybertron selling so well.

Meh, will someone just assasinate Kotick already? I'm beginning to wonder why it's taking so long. I hope BF3 will destroy MW3 in sells, but sadly, I know it's not going to happen. :( Well nothing else to say but, BF3 ftw.

I seriously dont understand people...Sure CoD4 was great, after that its just the same old crap. No teamwork at all, same old thing every year just with a different look. I hope Battlefield 3 outsells MW3 come next fall...DICE and the battlefield series deserve more recognition.

@King9999 Why research something that hasn't fundamentally changed? I used to love fighting games. Soul Caliber on 360 was my last attempt at playing them. Please tell me how any of the fighting games have fundamentally evolved on this generation of consoles. Games that have been revolutionary get relegated to obscurity and BlazeBlu or however the heck you spell it get the highest ratings. Seriously?

are the map packs for GTA4 worth getting still?

black ops campaign is good (though still too short) and the zombies is good fun, but the multiplayer is terrible, so i really dont think it should be selling this well. I foolishly payed full price for it at release, which was a big waste of money.

oh an lol at the guy who thinks you just mash buttons in fighting games, suuuurreee just try an play me while you are mashing buttons an i guarentee you will be ko'd in less than 20 seconds!!! actually there are way more mechanics to fighting games than there are to fps's, dont belive me? well frankly i dont care but there are, an thats that!!! such an ignorant statement!!

oh my god with the buying of call of duty, people slow the f down already, dang there are other games out there besides call of freakin duty, as for me a find marvel vs capcom 3 the funnest game out of these on this list, it realy should have got 1st, its just endless entertainment and fresh, unlike a certain stale fps!!!!!!

Black Ops has seen a massive reduction in price recently though, thats the only reason sales have picked up, its been ranging from £24.99 to £29.99 new everywhere I look...

man who doesnt have CoD of game right now.... when they announce there will be another CoD game people will get crazy...

I think the CoD series is ending up like a Z list celebrity... if you google Katie Price you will see what i mean! lol. Anyway... are people still insane or something? dont waste your money because you will just end up going back to MW2... I hope due to the fact sooo many good games are being released this year CoD will just wither and die, looking forward to getting me hands on Killzone 3, Battlefield 3, Bulletstorm, Shift 2, not too sure when Halo Combat evolved is being released? but i want it!..

Next week we'll see an article with the same thing....Black Ops topping sales as the sheep are herded to purchase it
