Uncharted dev not making game set in space

The problem with that is Uncharted is clearly not trying to be Prince of Persia or Shadow of the Colossus. It takes it's inspiration from things like Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt novels. If it wasn't heavy on story elements, then there would be nothing holding the game together.

This is what I mean when I always say "gamers" should do more reading,or become more familiar with movies and film. As video games become more intricate, they are going to become more story driven. Yet the gamer cognoscenti seems to think "Shoot bad guy. Bad guy die. Good guy win. Jump. Duck. Roll". I know this word is the bane of a gamer's existence, but read Clive Cussler's Cyclops, Inca Gold, or even something like Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Identity, and you'll see many elements of Uncharted that are taken from those novels.

Prince of Persia. There are plenty of games with interesting gameplay that don't require shooting every human on the planet under the guise of an adventure game.

@banana23man @Grenadeh @XBone4DaWin I'm not sure how to answer that with my library of 700+ games because frankly they all get rather boring. I just know that walking through invisible hallways, being forced to look at wonderful environments and then forbidden from exploring them, in exchange for forced gunfights with more dudes than have ever been killed in every movie combined - just to advance to the next invisible hallway - is not it.

I liked Uncharted 1, 2, 3, and I liked The Last of Us, while they lasted. The MP is fun and the single player are solid, well written stories.

The problem is, with TLOU especially, there's exponentially more movie and story than there is game. The puzzles in Uncharted are pathetic; the platforming is increasingly non-existent as the franchise goes on; and it just gets boring.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Apart from the fact the Uncharted was the FIRST game EVER to use FULL performance capture for the actors to you know.....really act instead of the method used before, which was just to read their lines on their own in a booth. A method which is now WIDELY copied in ALL of gaming because developers want to do it the 'Naughty Dog way'

It is superbly written, well acted, graphically the best of its generation, even laugh out loud FUNNY in places, with some of the most likeable characters in ALL of gaming history.

Uncharted was the first game to ever give us cinematic set pieces that looked like cutscenes but we still controlled Nathan Drake fully, never seen before in gaming, FIRST done in Uncharted.

Like it or not the Uncharted series (especially Uncharted 2) is one of the best series ever and the only people who say it isn't are people who haven't played it or butthurt fanboys like yourself.

Almost PERFECT review scores on Metacritic is hardly hype us 'Sony kids have created.'

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> uncharted is one of the greatest series of all time and its storyline and characters are some of the best of all time and that's what makes those games so good along with the settings and atmosphere and also the epic moments and they all deserved to be so highly rated also there was more gameplay then cut scenes even tho cut scenes are one of the most important things in a game as they tell the games storyline threw cut scenes so no it is not an interactive movie since it is more gameplay focused then cut scene focused tho it is more story and cut sense focused then most games and that isn't a bad thing storyline is just as Important if not more then gameplay a game with good gameplay you are like wow that was fun but at the end of a game with an amazing storyline you are like wow holy shit that was the most amazing thrilling emotional adventures I have ever been on and I will never forget this ever plus uncharted has amazing gameplay as well as amazing storyline and great characters that you actually care about beyond two souls is an interactive movie not uncharted tho interactive movies aren't a bad thing anyway
