GameSpot News today acquired new details on the sequel to Capcom's fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom. Titled Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, the game will sport a three-on-three team-battle mode similar to the team-system battle mode in the King of Fighters series. The "variable combination" from the first game will now have all three characters performing a mix of super combos. There will also be a new combo called "de-raid hyper combo," which involves all three characters as well.

The new characters on the Capcom side are Sonson (from Sonson), Hayato (from Star Gladiator), and an original character named Amingo. On the Marvel side, newcomers are Cable, Marrow, Doctor Doom, and an original character called Ruby Heart. Old characters such as Ryu, Guile, Zangief, Strider, Cyclops, Captain America, Wolverine, and Venom will be returning to the respective rosters as well.

The game is scheduled to appear in the arcades in spring 2000 and on the Sega Dreamcast shortly thereafter. The arcade and Dreamcast can be linked together using the Visual Memory Unit, although what purpose it will serve has not been revealed. GameSpot News will keep you posted.
