Vivendi Universal Games announced a new robotic shooter for the Xbox and GameCube today. The game, called Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, is being developed by Swingin' Ape.

In the game, players will assume the role of a robot named Glitch. The story has Glitch moving through more than 30 missions to save the residents of Iron Star from the insidious General Corrosive. Throughout the game, Glitch will perform different tasks, such as shooting, solving puzzles, driving, and taking control of enemy robots. The storyline is said to be humorously toned, and it is being written by a team of former television and cartoon writers.

Metal Arms: Glitch in the System will be released sometime during the fourth quarter of this year.
