God Eater Resurrection is an upcoming action game slated for a summer 2016 release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC via Steam. The game is an updated version of 2010's PlayStation Portable-exclusive God Eater Burst, which expanded upon the story of the original God Eater, released exclusively in Japan. Resurrection will feature enhanced graphics and extra scenes.
God Eater Resurrection is set during the year 2065 and sees the player join the ranks of an elite group of humans known as God Eaters who are responsible for fighting a group of monsters called Aragami. To assist in their battle, they fight using specially developed God Arc weapons. A sequel, God Eater 2: Rage Burst, is scheduled to be released in the West in summer this year.
The God Eater series has enjoyed success in Japan, where it has spawned an anime series, light novel adaptations, and a trading card game.
