large corps use dev's all the time both from in the company and from outside, just cus someone uses a independent doesn't mean they own jack sh**t.....

the real issue here is MS lacks creativity, lacks leadership and expects to dominate all markets so they throw cash all around hoping to buy loyalty, that's all this is, MS buying loyalty and if you can't see that you're blind.....

look at what Remedy did before MS entered the picture, they made 2 Max Payne games and both were good and both sold well cus they were released on PC, XBOX and PS2 meaning they had 3 major platforms to draw profits from...

on Alan Wake it was XBOX 360 only and with a limited customer pool, sure XBOX was in the lead but 99% of users were shooter players and didn't give a F about anything outside that little bracket, Fable? niche market and never grew a massive fanbase because of it, PGR niche market had a better fanbase than Fable but there was Forza as well and that had a bigger fanbase than PGR but......Halo was the largest IP MS had and still is which is why they push it so hardcore, they made Forza yearly cus they had to cus they have no other internal IP's.....even QB was an external game and it did poorly....

still don't get what I'm getting at??? because of MS's greed and need to dominate and need to have IP's they moronically buy off loyalty to make games when they could have tasked their internal studios to just make games.....

after Perfect Dark Zero they canned a sequel, they made Rare make more Banjo games and put em on the Viva Pineta games then when those started to plummet they put Rare on Kinect crap and Avatars.....

I assume MS made life difficult for Bizarre Creations or were told "yeah, we're canning the PGR series, make something better" so they left and said F you then what 5 years later after a series of bad games at Craptivision Bizarre was done.....we lost a good dev and a good IP simply cus [I'm assuming] PGR couldn't match Forza's sales.....nor could anything really top Halo and that was the goal.....seems a bit unrealistic I say....

then there's Gears outside development, 4 games in the series and they ended the story.....then MS buys the IP, sets up a new internal studio and makes a remaster and new game in the franchise and the new one is just the same enemies and nothing new really.....[more or less what I gathered, i don't play the series never did], thing is you'd think they'd move on to a new conflict against new enemies right?? also they're forcing a continuation for the F of it, same with halo and so both come off as soulless......

MS doesn't know how to do anything nor do they recognize real opportunity to have the same kind of dynasty as Nintendo and Sony have.....

when people look at Infamous, uncharted, Ratchet, Jakk, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus etc they see mostly names that stood the test of time, that are still relevant now and names that continue to make the consoles they're on a place to go.....

with MS Halo and Forza and Gears there's not a lot to go there for and forcing dev's to build independent exclusive games is wrong.....it doesn't add to their dynasty or legacy, it detracts......
