Watch Destiny 2's Reveal Trailer
Destiny 2 launches later this year with PS4 timed exclusive content.
After the release of a teaser image and trailer earlier this week, Destiny 2 has gotten its official reveal trailer.
It shows returning characters Zavala and Cayde talking about the loss of Earth's Last City, intermixing humor and an inspirational speech. (Ikora Rey makes a brief appearance, too.) Check it out above.
Bungie also announced the game's release date (September 8) and a lot more. You can read all about that here. A livestream on May 18 will show the first gameplay.
This follows the pair of teasers that suggested Last City would come under attack in Destiny 2. The teaser trailer also confirmed that PS4 will receive certain content before other platforms.
Although we've known for some time that a sequel to Destiny was in the works, it wasn't until this week that it was formally announced as Destiny 2. Little had been shared up to that point; Activision has said it will broaden the franchise's appeal, and we recently learned you won't be able to transfer items or experience from the first Destiny.
Destiny 2 arrives sometime later this year. A recent leak suggested it will be out in September following a beta that will debut first on PS4.
In the meantime, the first Destiny has received its last major update, delivering new content and bringing back some fun references for longtime fans.
