Watch Exorcist TV Show's Creepy New Trailer
Fox's new Exorcist TV show premieres on September 23.
The famous Exorcist film is becoming a TV show. Now, Fox has released a new Comic-Con trailer for the show and it looks incredibly creepy and mysterious.
Fox's Exorcist TV show follows two priests, father Tomas Ortega and father Marcus Brennan, who are each trying to deal with a family's demonic possession. As you'll see in the trailer, each man has a very different background and temperament. Take a look:
Oscar-winner Geena Davis (Thelma & Louise, The Accidental Tourist) plays the family's mother, Angela--and she's seen happier days.
"Angela has been plagued by recurring nightmares, each more frightening than the last. Angela believes there is something in the house, a demonic presence, growing stronger by the day," reads a line from the show's official description.
It goes on: "Desperate, she begs Father Tomas for help, unwittingly setting the naive young priest on a collision course with Father Marcus. Separately, each faces an insurmountable task, but together they become the only hope against an evil force that has been mobilizing for centuries."
1973's The Exorcist, based on the William Peter Blatty novel, was nominated for multiple Academy Awards and ended up winning two: Best Sound and Best Writing for a Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium.
The new show premieres on September 23 on Fox. It is directed by Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt.
