Square Enix has unveiled a new extended version of Final Fantasy XV's cinematic Dawn trailer it first debuted at Gamescom this year. The trailer shows extended scenes featuring the pasts of protagonists Noctis and Lunafreya.
The trailer is titled Dawn 2.0, and shows Lunafreya held up at gunpoint as she thinks back to herself as a young girl, attacked by an armour-clad assailant. Noctis is also shown in scenes alternating with those of himself as a young boy being held by his crying father. Like in the original Dawn trailer, both flashbacks are set 15 years in the past.
Game director Hajime Tabata previously confirmed with GameSpot in an interview that the two characters are romantically involved, although their tale won't be a "typical love story."
Final Fantasy XV will be released simultaneously worldwide in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A specific launch date will be revealed in March next year. We recently spoke to game director Hajime Tabata about the localisation process, and the cost of making such an ambitious game.
More news about Final Fantasy XV is expected to be revealed at Tokyo Game Show. GameSpot will be covering the event at it takes place this week, so be sure to stay tuned to the TGS hub for the latest breaking content.
