Watch Final Fantasy's Arcade Fighting Game in Action

Square Enix announced a 3 vs. 3 Final Fantasy fighting game.

Square Enix has announced that its bringing Dissidia Final Fantasy, a fighting game featuring characters from the role-playing game series, to Japanese arcades.

Dissidia Final Fantasy, if you aren't familiar with it, was first released on the PSP in 2009. In 2012, it got a prequel and a remake rolled into one with Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy. The new arcade version will feature much improved graphics and three-on-three battles.

Square Enix announced the game at the Japanese Amusement Expo, which focuses on all things arcade. The company also launched a website for the game, though it doesn't have much information at the moment. Square Enix also didn't announce any plans to bring the game to consoles for now.

It looks a lot like Squenix/Taito's previous arcade games, the Gunslinger Stratos series of third-person shooters, but with swords rather than guns.

This has no bearing on FF: XV as it's a different team that's making the game. And you realize the arcade is still thriving over in Japan right and they have memory cards to save their progress.

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> I agree on the series falling so hard but Japanese Memory Cards in Arcades? So far Square Enix has been milking the franchise now from 2010 and upwards. Still this game won't save the franchise, if it does however make it to the west it will be perfect opportunity to play as the villains and kill the heroes of the franchise.
